How do you put together a fun-filled, fast-paced cooking game show that is bound to become a daily local television staple? It’s easy. You take a “Red Tomato” and a “Green Pepper”, split them into a “Red Kitchen” and a “Green Kitchen”, add a top Mzansi chef on each side, and pair them with an enthusiastic home cook who is ready to challenge the food maestro’s creativity with a mystery bag of everyday ingredients delivered by Mr D. Then, you turn on the heat by setting the clock for a boiling hot 20-minute cook-off. At the same time, you mix in the humour, flair and fabulosity of one of South Africa’s favourite personalities – foodie, comedian, presenter, actor and YouTube star Moshe Ndiki. That’s the simple yet irresistible recipe followed by Ready Steady Cook South Africa, the thrill-a-minute daily treat with which S3 will spice up its Monday to Friday menu from Monday, 18 March, at 19:00. You can also catch reruns of the show, Mondays to Fridays, on SABC 1 at 15:30 and SABC 2 at 17:30 or tune in for the week’s Ready Steady Cook South Africa omnibus on S3 on Saturdays between 08:00 and 10:30. Based on the long-running BBC show represented worldwide by the media and entertainment powerhouse Banijay, Ready Steady Cook South Africa is a collaboration between Primedia Studios and the production company Rose and Oaks Media – the combo which was also responsible for the massive S3 hit The Masked Singer South Africa. The star power, of course, belongs to show host Moshe Ndiki and the celebrity chefs lined up to show viewers how to create mouthwatering dishes from the five randomly selected food items. The well-known chefs who will show off their incredible food-making skills are Wandile Mabaso, Neo Nontso, Fehmida Osman-Latib, Kamini Pather, Kelly Njokweni, Liziwe Matloha, Lorna Maseko, Lufuno Sinthumule, Mmule Setati and Nthi Ramaboa. In each of the 260 Ready Steady Cook South Africa episodes, you will find one of these famous culinary stars in the red kitchen and another one in the green kitchen, where they are tasked to create three mouthwatering dishes with the food items brought along by their Team Red Tomato or Team Green Pepper partner within 20 minutes. Once the time has run out, the studio audience then votes to determine the episode’s winning team. What makes the show even more entertaining is that the two home cooks are related somehow. They’re either family members, friends, or business partners from the same profession or even sharing a hobby. During the cook-off, the audience learns more about their lives through their interaction with Moshe and the chefs. If you and someone you know think you’re ready and steady to cook alongside the esteemed chefs on this juicy television show, you can WhatsApp the producers on 068 675 2542. Ready Steady Cook South Africa is proudly sponsored by Mr D.

At the end of their stint in Vietnam, Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith and his team were framed for robbing the Bank of Hanoi (which they had done, but under orders), and sent to a US military prison. They escaped and went on the run, pursued first by Colonel Francis Lynch and later by Colonel Roderick Decker and finally by General Harlan "Bull" Fullbright. While on the lam, they became heroes for hire, working as good-guy vigilantes around the United States or the world. Hannibal was their leader and an expert at disguises. Templeton "Face(man)" Peck was the team's con artist and ladies man. Bosco Albert "BA" (or "Bad Attitude") Baracus was their mechanic, but also took care of mayhem and intimidation. The final member of the Team, H.M "Howling Mad" Murdock, was an expert pilot, and a certified lunatic--they broke him out of a mental hospital whenever they needed him for a mission.

When South Africa’s adaptation of the legendary game show Wheel of Fortune kicks off on S3 on Monday, 8 April at 19:30, Rorisang Thandekiso will rewrite global television history. Rorisang is the first female ever to anchor an edition of the big-name game show franchise, produced in more than 40 countries. These localized versions of the original US show, created by TV host and media mogul Merv Griffin, are renowned for their formidable hosts and co-hosts. Pat Sajak and his graceful sidekick Vanna White, who have appeared on the US’s Wheel of Fortune since its inception in 1975, are American television royalty. With Pat retiring soon, sought-after television presenter Ryan Seacrest will steer the iconic Wheel of Fortune’s upcoming season. In another host coup, Wheel of Fortune returned to the UK earlier this year with five-time Bafta-winner Graham Norton at the helm. “I am incredibly honoured to follow in these giant footsteps and be the first Wheel of Fortune South Africa host and the lucky person introducing the show to Africa,” says Rorisang, whose impressive resumé spans from entering the industry as a YOTV presenter to establishing herself as an esteemed radio and television personality. She is also one of the country’s most esteemed MCs and motivational speakers and has an angelic voice, as proved by being the lead vocalist of Muzart. Furthermore, she captivated viewers with her acting in several television series. “Rorisang radiates all the attributes required to hold the reins of this world-famous word-quiz game show, said Lala Tuku, Acting Group Executive of Video Entertainment at the SABC. “Rori comes with gravitas and years of experience in front of the camera but also embodies a unique mix of sparkle, confidence, and calmness. Furthermore, we’re thrilled to break the mould with a powerful female host. It fits in with SABC’s mission to celebrate diversity and put the spotlight on women.” Wheel of Fortune South Africa, proudly sponsored by Cell C, is a collaboration between Primedia Studios and the acclaimed production company Homebrew Films. Cell C Chief Marketing Officer Melanie Forbes said, “We are thrilled to support such an iconic game show as Wheel of Fortune and to have a remarkable figure in entertainment like Rorisang as the host is the icing on the cake to bring excitement and opportunities for winning big to viewers across South Africa. We are proud to be able to change people’s fortunes and bring joy and entertainment at the same time.” In each 30-minute Monday to Friday episode of Wheel of Fortune South Africa, Rorisang will be joined by three contestants who will be swept away by a whirlwind of word riddles and a giant carnival wheel determining what they will take home. “It’s like Hangman meets Roulette, but on an ample dose of healthy television steroids,” Rorisang raves. “Like the rest of the world, South Africans will love it. This is the kind of game show that will keep the entire family glued to their screens – whether they’re trying to solve the word puzzles themselves or are routing for the contestants to rake in more money or fabulous prizes.” Among the prizes on the show is a snazzy Suzuki Grand Vitara Hybrid. So, South Africa’s first Wheel of Fortune host invites everyone who loves word games like the classic Hangman – and a bit of an adrenaline rush from the prospect of winning big – to come and spin The Wheel of Fortune themselves.
