AB DE COSTA AND KYLE CLARK JOIN THE EXPRESSO MORNING SHOW FAMILY

Johannesburg, 1 October 2024 – The Expresso Morning Show on S3 is excited to announce two new additions to its team. AB De Costa and Kyle Clark will join the beloved morning show, bringing their unique energy and passion to screens across South Africa.

AB De Costa, a talented host on Radio 2000, broadcasts The Vintage House on Fridays from 7 PM to 10 PM, Saturdays from 6 PM to 9 PM, and Sundays from 10 PM to Midnight. The MC from Mabopane, Pretoria, is ready to take on this exciting new chapter. “This is the stuff dreams are made of,” says AB. “It’s an honour and a privilege to join the Cardova and Expresso team. After 14 years in radio, doing TV has always been a dream, and I believe this opportunity is arriving at the perfect time in my career. I’m eager to connect with fellow South Africans every morning and share in their lives.”

Kyle Clark, known for his loyal following from the award-winning soapie 7de Laan, has spent nearly 14 years pursuing his dream of becoming a TV presenter. Sharing his excitement about joining the show, Kyle says, “After years of standing in queues and submitting audition videos, joining the Expresso family feels like home. I grew up watching Expresso before school, and now, to be part of that journey is surreal. This moment means everything to me and my family—it truly feels like a blessing.”

The Expresso Morning Show eagerly anticipates the arrival of AB De Costa and Kyle Clark as the newest field presenters, bringing their vibrant energies to the show as they guide viewers through the diverse stories of South Africa. Meanwhile, fellow presenters Carissa Cupido, Graeme Richards, Ewan Strydom, Ryle De Morny, and Carl Wastie are live in studio, delivering the best in morning entertainment from Cape Town weekdays from 6 to 9 AM, while Zanele Potelwa takes the lead in Johannesburg every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday—only on S3.

SABC VIDEO ENTERTAINMENT SCORES 39 NOMINATIONS IN THE 18TH SAFTAS

Johannesburg, 9 September 2024 – SABC Video Entertainment congratulates the nominees of the 2024 South African Film and Television Awards.

SABC scored 39 nominations in the 2024 South African Film and Television Awards, with S3 receiving 11 nominations, SABC2 with 12 nominations and SABC1 leading the pack with 16 nominations.

In honouring the late Joseph Tshabalala for his contribution to South African democracy, SABC1 broadcasted a documentary, Music is My Life: The Story of Joseph Tshabalala, nominated in two categories, Best Achievement in Directing – Documentary and Best Documentary Feature. The notable nominations obtained from the channel include The Best TV Soap for Skeem Saam, Best Variety Show for Sport @10, and a Best Structured Or Docu-Reality Show nomination received by Reno Race.

On the SABC2 front, among the nominations is The Khoekhoe Saga, which debuted in January 2023. Presenter Jolene Martins is nominated in the Public Voting Category for Best TV Presenter, congratulations on the nomination.

The Masked Singer on S3 received nominations in the Best International Format category, and the host, Mpho Popps, is in the running to be voted the Best TV Presenter by the public.

The viewers can vote for their favourite TV Presenters and their favourite Soap or Telenovela with the voting line opening today, 9 September 2024, until 21 October 2024.

S3 announces the return of Top Travel in its 4th season starting from Saturday the 23rd of March 2024 at 20:30.

The series welcomes two new hosts, Model and TV personality Dr. Fezile Mkhize and Dr. Anesu Mbizvo, who will take viewers into an exhilarating journey across Africa, redefining travel at its finest on our very own home turf! From the rolling green hills of the Eastern Cape to the breath-taking sapphire waters of the Kenya coastline and searing sands of the Namibian deserts, the duo explores the diverse landscapes and cultures of the continent we call home.  

Top Travel promises to bring pulse-pounding adventures, immersive cultural experiences, and breath-taking natural wonders that showcase the unparalleled beauty of Africa.  

Fezile Mkhize won the SABC3 presenter search in 2018 which landed him a role as one of the presenters of the lifestyle show Top Billing and he currently plays a paramedic on Generations : The Legacy.  Anesu Mbizvo is an experienced 700RYT yoga and meditation teacher and proud Founder and Co-owner of the pioneering inclusive yoga studio and wellness center The Nest Space. 

Some of the episodes that viewers can look forward to are:-  

Episode 1: 23 March 2024  

We’re excited to present a brand-new season of Top Travel with fresh hosts: Fezile Mkhize and Anesu Mbizvo. They’ll be starting their epic 13-episode journey in Namibia, where they meet up with some animal friends, traverse the Sossusvlei desert, hike the epic ochre dunes and experience the land of the brave from the air.  

Episode 2: 30 March 2024 

In this episode of Top Travel Fezile and Anesu embark on an Okavango Delta adventure in a luxurious floating river villa. They’re welcomed by traditional song and dance, try their hand at fishing, take a guided walk through the wild and enjoy beautiful sunsets on a unique boat safari in the Bwabwata National Park. 

Episode 3: 6 April 2024 

In this episode, Fezile and Anesu cross the border from Namibia to Botswana and continue their incredible Okavango experience in an architectural baobab tree house. They row along hippo and crocodile packed waters in a traditional Mokoro boat, take to the skies for a helicopter safari, immerse themselves in local culture with some singing and cooking lessons before watching the sun set over the water and experiencing crystal clear starlit skies. 

Episode 4: 13 April 2024  

South Africa calls our hosts back home as they travel to Limpopo where the pair stay in 5-star chalets that were converted from traditional Venda huts then they cozy up to crocodiles and hippos in a beautiful lakeside lodge and get up close and personal with some of the biggest land mammals in the world. Fezile and Anesu go mountain biking, clay making, do some serene yoga in nature all before an adrenaline rush on the big swing that flies through one of the most picturesque places in the whole of SA! 

Episode 5: 20 April 2024 

Fezile and Anesu travel to Lesotho, the kingdom in the sky where they receive the royal treatment at the Maliba lodge. They drive off the beaten path in a 4×4 challenge, cool off in crystal clear rock pools and celebrate Sotho style with some traditional song and dance. Our couple aren’t done yet! The excitement continues as they don iconic Sotho blankets to visit a traditional healer and later take part in some amateur paleontology, Lesotho just keeps giving and giving. 

Episode 6: 27 April 2024 

Fezile takes us on a special short left to his hometown of Port Shepstone. The couple stay on the edge of a mountain before trekking to the top of the Amphitheatre where they camp under the Drakensberg stars and see epic African vistas from the world’s tallest waterfall. They take on the mountains in a 300 horsepower 4×4 Land Rover and later a one horsepower, well, horse! There is always something new to learn as they take a few flying lessons, swing off a mountain and get to know some very sweet scavengers. 

Episode 7: 4 May 2024 

Fezile and Anesu embark on a captivating journey through the Eastern Cape, staying at the luxurious Sand Castle Villa and the enchanting Kwandwe Eca Lodge. From thrilling activities like sandboarding and deep-sea fishing to the heart-warming experiences of a Rhino conservation safari and African bedtime stories, this episode promises an unforgettable adventure in this picturesque region. Watch as they take in the beauty of Hole in the Wall, guided walks, visit some bees, pick mussels, and enjoy a delectable fresh fish braai, all culminating in a magical sunset.
