Johannesburg, Wednesday, 15 January 2025 – S3 announces the broadcast of a 3-part documentary feature, House of Maxwell, on Thursdays at 22:00, starting 23 January 2025.
The documentary is part of the BBC Block broadcast from 21:00 to 23:00 on Mondays to Fridays. The slot was launched in May 2024, as part of the partnership between S3 and BBC Studios and features a hand-picked selection of award-winning dramas, factual entertainment, and documentaries.
House of Maxwell takes viewers behind the scandals of the Maxwell family involving mysterious deaths and criminal trials spanning decades through confidential documents and never-before-seen archive footage.
The story is of media mogul Robert Maxwell, his dramatic downfall, the unravelling of his troubled family and how his death affected his daughter Ghislaine Maxwell.
The series switches between the current criminal case against Ghislaine Maxwell and the past, revealing the Maxwell family’s staggering story for the first time. It shows how Robert Maxwell impacted the lives of all his children and examines some of the biggest scandals engulfing the family over the years.
When Ghislaine Maxwell got convicted of grooming and trafficking underage girls, she became a household name, with her face on the front pages of newspapers all over the world.
About Ghislaine Maxwell
Ghislaine is a British former socialite and a convicted sex offender. She was found guilty of child sex trafficking and other offences in connection with the deceased financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in 2021. She was sentenced to twenty years in a federal court in New York City in June 2021.
