The Award winning SABC3 show Special Assignment aims to uncover the truth about news events and the people involved in them.
Since its premiere in 1998 the show has gained the reputation of delivering unbiased, edgy journalism, breaking stories that have had an impact, not only on the immediate situation, but on South African society as a whole.
Using television as a form of social activism the show has won numerous awards for the impact it’s had. Special Assignment aims to continue bringing viewers award winning investigative documentaries.

In December 2013, The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) found Dr. Wouter Basson, guilty of unprofessional conduct and breaching medical ethics. This was for his role in heading the Apartheid Government’s Chemical and Biological Warfare programme, called “Project Coast”, which earned him the nickname, Dr. Death.
