Mary J. Blige Tops Michael Jackson Tribute in Vienna

Mary J. Blige is scheduled to appear at Michael Jackson’s international tribute concert.

Michael Jackson’s international tribute concert will take place on Sept. 26 at Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria. The concert is planned by Michael’s brother, Jermaine Jackson, and the World Awards Media. Back in August, rumors circulated on which music sensations would headline and join the show.

ABC News reports Mary J. Blige, Akon, Natalie Cole, Angela Bassett and Sister Sledge are scheduled to appear. To date, 13 artists are confirmed to perform at the concert. Release of the rest of the roster is due to be unveiled Wednesday and Thursday of this week in London and Berlin. At a news conference in Vienna, Jermaine Jackson and producer Georg Kindel announced that a total of 20 to 25 artists are expected to confirm.

An estimated 65,000 people will sit in the audience, in addition to the international broadcast coverage. The New York Times adds that the tribute concert will include performances of many of Michael Jackson’s greatest hit songs like “Billie Jean,” “Thriller,” and “Bad.”
